It really is a shame but there are so many blogs out that that no one really cares to read someone's day to day information. What is of interest is that I will begin in the late fall using this blog for my sister's books. Willie passed away two years ago, leaving a world of her writing. In honesty she was a good clean writer. Here I'll place her books so the family can share in them.
For the rest of this month, I have so much to do I'll not be back till August. When I can give you more then a hurried note.
For all those that are Blogging, remember God love's you, Jesus is Mercy, you just have to call out he will hear you. The answer might not come right away, but it will come. You are not alone in your struggles, others face them too. Tie a knot in your rope and hang on. You will get through it family, friends, God and much struggle.
In Christ Jesus I am Claudia
KMSL 071612Z AUTO 19010KT 10SM FEW018 OVC085 17/13 A3029 RMK AO2

April Fools

                        April Fools

Well march is ending with a sunny day, temps in the 60's yet it will not last. April fool's day brings with it severe thunderstorms, along with a possibility of tornadoes, lighting and more water. Which we can use but not all in one day. So enough about the weather.

Here is the news from the home front:

Easter is only two weeks away with many a young lady hoping she will be able to wear that new dress mama bought her, along with her new hat and purse. That the Easter egg hunt will not be rained out and there are enough eggs to go around. The First United Methodist Church of Russellville, AL with Pastor Alan Beasley will be holding many different types of Easter services, among them Palm Sunday the chancellery Choir Cantata, Tuesday before Easter the cross exchange with Good shepherd Catholic Church of Russellville, AL (the cross hold tiny wood pieces that we place our deeps prayers and desires on for the next year. Each cross from both churches has these little pieces of wood nailed to them by the person who is praying or desiring a prayer) Easter Sunday morning will see the sunrise over worshipers as we rejoice in the resurrection of our most Lord and Savior Jesus the living Christ. Learn more about my church through the link below.

http://www.discoverfirstmethodist.org/index.php

Well now after much anticipation the Wood family has a new member, as I wrote in March Mimi and Brian are the proud parents of a little boy. I have completed 4 burp bibs for Jaxon, my dragon turned out really cutie. Several other panels that will be going off to Dale our Finisher for the AQP who needs panels for quilts for her area, now Dale has made quilts for our Alabama hospitals and children. So I will be returning the favor by sending the few panels I have made up to her for her children.
   <a href="http://s258.photobucket.com/albums/hh244/cem65

So I made these with my Janome Memory Craft 9000 a lot of good advice from Janome_9000_help yahoo groups. We were blessed in February with two cases of pillow forms. These will truly hope us keep the cuddle cushions going to hospitals in our area and state, we truly wish to thank the donor. Jobs are at a minimum and premium so we can understand the need to account for every penny coming into a family. We thank all who continue to stitch, and support this group faithfully.

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/angelafghanproject/

Well now remember that Quilts for Older Children has moved to Yahoo Groups and can be found there. They have many older children and seniors in need of stitching love, so if you're a cross stitcher and should like to do something for someone else drop into each of the below charities.

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/quiltsforolderchildrenandadults/

<![endif]-->
March is here :)

Well with February finished, March winds blowing things around the old homestead have become very interesting. I have Machine Embroidered, several pieces for cuddle cushions or quilts, made labels for the cuddle cushions and monogrammed Jaxon's name. He hasn't been born yet, but should arrive any day now. Brian is busy working to get the baby's room ready. It will be done in Roll Tide aka University of Alabama. Jaxon's brother and sisters, are busy helping daddy put up the crib, changing table, dresser and new carpet on the floor. Mimi has already painted the room a dove gray to set off the burgundy for Crimson Tide wall hangings. Mimi also has been going through items given to her from friends who have had babies for good used clothes. Babies use up a lot of clothes, diapers, blankets and more. Jaxon’s mama and daddy are ready for him to arrive. He will be called Jaxon Phillip Wood, grandpa Wood is so proud of all his grandchildren that he will beam proudly at Jaxon as he did with Melissa now 18 when she was born. Maw maw Pat is also on pins and needles for Jaxons arrival.

I sent off 10 finished pieces to Q4OC, working to finish up 15 more books marks for Emmaus, one birth announcement and a SAL for AQP quilt to be make and auctioned off this spring. I have the 3rd banner for the church laid out, just need to finish up smaller pieces so that I have that only on my stitching board. My hand cross stitch needle has been turbo charged for the past few months. I guess not seeing to well hasn’t slowed me down any.

February had me going to the eye specialists every week in the hope that my right eye could be made to heal it's self. Finally I had to just stop going as I only had a few Medicaid visits and need them for regular Medical Dr and my cardiologist. So the eye feels as if there is something continually in it, blurry and the socket hurts, but I can live with it. If it gets worse I'll go back. Praying and trusting in God that things will be ok, in his time. I can say the pain in the socket of the eye is like a roller coaster, it’s up at the top then makes a swift dive down to the bottom of the coaster before heading back up again. About like Arthur Arthritis, up down, up down, till you just get use to it and tired of the pain even happening.

This week we have had snow...about 2 to 3 inches in our area, with more falling on the lower part of state. It's cold today of course, doves hunting for food, daffodils, dropping over and trees in bloom shuddering with the thought of freezing off their new young shoots. Ah it's nearly Spring....with dog woods coming into bloom already and Easter will be late in April. Dogwoods will have finished putting out there buds moving on to being fully green.

Well with the children, basketball season is over, games won and loss, were not kept but Brianna and Mason did play in tournaments. Won the first round but there teams lost the second round of play. Will and Bailey are just glad it’s finished. They are now signed up for softball, t-ball, and baseball. So we begin the rush to get Mason to this ball field, Bailey and Will to their field, Brianna over to here’s and there all in town, but about 3 miles apart. Just hope no one has to be at a game with one or more of their siblings at the same time.

Well now remember that Quilts for Older Children has moved to Yahoo Groups and can be found there. They have many older children and seniors in need of stitching love, so if you’re a cross stitcher and should like to do something for someone else drop into each of the below charities.

  http://groups.yahoo.com/group/quiltsforolderchildrenandadults/

The Angel Quilt Project has started year nine, we are all busy stitching up panels for quilts for Nic units or cancer children, cuddle cushions and praying for financial help in this most stress filled time for every family out there.

If you can't afford money and have time on your hands, cross stitch, machine embroidery or quilt at home drop in to see if you might like to help either one of these groups.

Now for something new, I was asked by Diann Snow of The Scrap Garden to join her creative team. I of course did not know what that entailed so inquired of Diann what I would need to do. Well we are learning together, but it seems I would be required to create a LO using one of her kits, write a review of said kit, and create a sale LO. Having done this, I will give you the name of the kit were you can get it, and show you a LO I did using this kit.

First off here is the review of SPRING FLING.

Here is the link to the Scrap Garden store and Diann Snow's kit
http://www.scrappinggarden.com/shop/home.php

While there are Easter bunnies, eggs, etc. in this kit, it makes a beautiful spring kit. You have such light delicate papers, flowers; cheerful buttons to make any LO perk up after the long winter blues. This kit says snow season is over, hi ho it's spring, flowers in bloom, looking forward to the greening of the land. If you’re looking for one kit to get to set up LO for spring this is the kit to do it with.

KMSL 071612Z AUTO 19010KT 10SM FEW018 OVC085 17/13 A3029 RMK AO2

Spring Fling by Diann Snow

<img style="cursor: pointer; Well, January was a month filled with rushing here, rushing there, and not getting any where. I have spent time digi scrapping, working on cross stitching my third angel, and finally have the 3rd banner printed sitting on my desk to cool before I go over it again and begin to stitch it. I am working to finish up 6 small pieces for Q F O C. I have been doing some challenges also on the scrap garden and moo two, plus working on calenders for next year. So that was part of January, the rest of the time has been spent rushing from one doctor to another. It was found I have a heart blockage, no worries, will see cardiologist in April, my right eye was annoying me, and I was beginning to have more trouble seeing, so went to the eye doctor, were a scratch was found on the right eye pupil. After a week of eye drops, it was hoped it would heal, but it did not and now I'm off to see another eye doctor who deals with tis type of problem. January in brief. It's been cold, so cold that arthritis has hurt me so bad there are some days I just can't stand to go outside. We haven't had any more snow but lots of cold temps and rain. More rain on the way for the last week in this month. I plan to make this a short update as I want to review a few things for Moo Two, Q F O C and the A Q P.

Well now remember that Quilts for Older Children has moved to Yahoo Groups and can be found there . They have many older children and seniors in need of stitching love, so if your a cross stitch and should like to do something for someone else drop into each of the below charities.

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/quiltsforolderchildrenandadults/

The Angel Quilt Project is starting year nine, we are all busy stitching up panels for quilts for either Nic units or cancer children, cuddle cushions and praying for financial help in this most stress filled time for every family out there. Jobs are at a minimum and premium so we can understand the need to account for every penny coming into a family. We thank all who continue to stitch, and support this group faithfully.

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/angelafghanproject/

http://quilting.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?site=http://www.aqphome.org
If you can't afford money have time on your hands and do cross stitch, machine embroidery or quilt at home drop in to see if you might like to help either one of these groups.

Well, if you have any would be NBA players out there, or an Atlanta Hawk who are on the courts right now and you've found yourself with quite a number of photo's to scrap on your computer, I can truly recommend this kit from Moo Two by Gloria Val Verde called Slam Dunk . I recently acquired this kit and have found it perfect for those baskeball shots of Will, shooting for the net not rim. Bailey heading down court with a studyied dripple, bounce it girl, bounce it, Mason and Brianna has games coming up and I'm ready for them now. I will be spending a Saturday soon all day at the games, my digital camera with fresh batteries an empty card and ready to shoot in between cheering the teams on. Slam Dunk by Gloria Val Verde at MooTwo sells for $4.00, for that sum you acquire: Papers, Frames, Tags,Doodles, Basketballs,Team Bus, and a Basketball Court well worth the price. http://www.mootwodesigns.com/mooTwoStore/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=2420

KMSL 071612Z AUTO 19010KT 10SM FEW018 OVC085 17/13 A3029 RMK AO2

December....were did the year go

It's the first of the month, my town is busy getting ready for Christmas, last Sunday Night we celebrated the Hanging of the Green, decorated our Christmond tree,(this tree doesn't have bows, tinsel etc it holds symbols of the trinity, Jesus, God etc on it) put up wreaths, the Advent wreath with it's candles symbolizing the 4 Sundays before the big night. Stores are busy with shoppers, children have gone over there list about 50 times already, with new additions every day, Mimi a good mama has given them a limit and made it clear Santa was not rich having a hard time this year with elf layoffs.
We have been down with a virus that took quite a number of my family, friends and sisters in Christ out for about two weeks at a time. I had the miserable virus and it was not fun, so now I'm playing catch up with all the things to get done in a few weeks. I have all but a few gifts to finish up and stash around the apartment. The children come in to visit me, but it seems they always know where a new gift is put and check to see if there name is on it. Brianna asked if there names were on any of the packages, Mason answered for me, “Well no, she wouldn't put ours out yet!” to right mate.
I have been listening to Ill Divo like there music I find, also to Mercy Me, have set up a You Tube account just so I can view and save Video's I like. Especial the music one's as I can't buy any right now. When asked what I wanted for Christmas I told Bruce & Keith that they couldn't go wrong at Hobby Lobby cross stitch section, Machine Embroidery material etc. I am always in need of that.
Right now I'm busy stitching 80 book marks for March's Emmaus walk, I'll getter done, with each one being just a wee bit different. I'm also almost finished with the pattern for the 3rd and last banner to be made for my church. With God's help my hands will hold out till it's done. I hope that it is found pleasing in God's eyes, for it is being done for Him.

Well now remember that Quilts for Older Children has moved to Yahoo Groups and can be found there now. We have struggled for 8 years to keep this going. Some times coming so close to ending that it broke many of our hearts. There have been trials and tribulations through those 8 years. There have been deaths, births, sickness, and more sorrow's then I can count or speak of but we stuck together and kept stitching each piece filled with prayer and love. We thought of each family with a baby new born to this world fighting in there tiny cubes for every breath. We thought of each child laying in a hospital bed, some alone with no one but the doctor's and nurses to care so we cared along with those wonderful hospital staff, making quilts for them too, cuddle cushions each one filled with prayer and love. We have spent our own limited funds, thought of what we could do with out to help gett the supplies needed and did it. We have begged for donations from friends, family local stores and kept on stitching. Finisher across the world kept on making the quilts, the cuddle cushions and kept on keeping on. I tell you this with a sorrowful heart knowing we are in serious financial trouble. Just like all of those through out the world in pain over the loss of jobs we too need help. We can't go to the government for a bail out so we hope someone who might drop into this Blog will check out our sight, our yahoo group page, or picture trails mine is http://www.picturetrail.com/claudia55 to see what we do.

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/angelafghanproject/

  http://quilting.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?site=http://www.aqphome.org

If you should find it in your heart to send a few dollars there way the above Ur L's should see you in the right direction or you can e mail me. I would think about this post, but something would get in the way. Kids, dogs, stitching, scrapping, photography, and illness. So I'm here now, lets get this done so you can pass over this and move on to a more important Blog.
Since I've been off the kids have moved on from T_Ball, to the fall sport of football. Mini Midgets for Russellville was a very active Mason played quite a bit so the family was at a game or practice every week. (I'll post photo's later on of the school, sports and activities as soon as I get them into photo bucket)Grandpa Phil, Brianna and Mason went off to Mason's football banquet the other day. I heard that a good time was had by all. Mason received a very nice trophy and medal which now resides in his room. Will has started round ball, he is happy to have a sport that is all his, I will have to see that I get to one of his games to cheer him on and get some great photo's of Will in action. Brianna and Bailey are doing well in gymnastics. Brianna is working on a backward handstand that twist the body ouch, Bailey can bend her self backward then land on her hands to hold her body into a bridge position, she hangs from the swing set like a little monkey, just likes to do that a lot.
Mimi took Brian off to Tuscaloosa the other weekend for his birthday. It was an Alabama football game and a good time was had by both parties. Nov. 29 TH is the Iron Bowl and for those who like football you know it's the big Alabama -- Auburn football game. If you can find a TV or Radio not tuned to the game you will be lucky. If you don't like football, rent a movie or go shopping, because that is not a Saturday you can expect to find anyone in Alabama who doesn't have to work not hooked up someway. I made the mistake one year of visiting my sister Willie when the game was starting. Phil told us to get lost, politely but to stop chatting in the living room while he was watching the game. We gave in and went over to a mall about 35 miles away to window shop, eat out and just have some sister time together. Even there the game was on the loud speaker..LOL

I was given a wonderful gift a few weeks ago. A lady in my church asked me if I had a sewing machine, I told her yes, she then asked me if I would like an Embroidery Machine, with shock in my voice I said "Oh Yes." Well my machine arrived with a world of patterns, items to use to make the patterns, instructions, every thing I could need including the name of a lady who would help me learn how to use the Embroidery Machine. Once oh about 4 years a go while I was chatting with God, I asked him what would I do when I couldn't cross stitch anymore. I thought about an Embroidery Machine but not having the funds to buy one well I knew that was out. So while discussing this cross stitch situation with Him, I just mentioned the Embroidery Machine idea and forgot about it. God does answer prayers when your ready for the answer. I am eagerly ready to learn this new craft, but my only problem is that my nephew Keith hasn't gotten my sewing table to me. If your reading this Keith how about it...please I should like to learn how to do a few things for Christmas if I can....Keith, Bruce...please????...I'm a nag aren't I....LOL

Well I finished quite a bit of cross stitching, sent the puppies I was doing off to there new owner. Seemed to me I was stitching more puppies then was on the pattern. There done, I've finished an angel, fairy, fish plus two Angels one blue, one red for Quilts for Older Children which has moved to Yahoo Groups and can be found there now.

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/quiltsforolderchildrenandadults/

With the help of Dale High in PA, and Carol Lee in LA I was able to have taken to Huntsville Hospital Nic Unit for preemie's quilts for the babies. Another beautiful patch was taken to Hospice for the children who have cancer and Helen Keller received quilts along with cuddle cushions (pillows). I won't be able to take cuddle cushions to Keller in December so I'm going to take them some very special quilts. We just don't have the funds to buy the pillow forms. They have to be hyper allergenic and cost with shipping is more then we have right now. With the economy heading further south right now we will all be doing the best we can with what we have. Here are the URL's for the Angel Quilt Project.

       http://groups.yahoo.com/group/angelafghanproject/

      http://quilting.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?site=http://www.aqphome.org

If you should find it in your heart to send a few dollars there way the above URL's should see you in the right direction or you can e mail me. We have had a lot of small things going on. There is a display till November in our public library for the Angel Quilt Project. I with the help of Martha Thorn, put some pillows and quilts on display, Martha made a really great flyer to distributed to anyone who is interested to read about our organization. Well not our’s it is one we both belong too along with her mother Betty Seal, Nancy Harvey and Carol Lee in LA, that’s about it. Many of our members have moved off, quit stitching, or just plain quit doing charity work. You can check out the Angel Quilt sight for information about the group which makes quilts for neonatal babies in hospitals across the United States, with a Canada group, Europe group and the re activation of the Australian group.http://www.aqphome.org Also please remember Quilts for Older children, they are always in need of cross switchers, and can be found at there MSN groups web sight http://groups.msn.com/QuiltsforOlderChildren

The girls both have started taking gymnastics, which they seem to like quite well, they tumble, do back flips, hang from bars so the two monkeys should enjoy it very much. It was fun to watch them go through the paces with the teachers. It’s a very good class as the children are not rushed, all get a chance, all are praised, and there is enough teachers to handle the group with ease. Mason is in midget football. I haven’t been to a practice yet but will get there, as it’s held late and early on Saturdays I am usually a sleep, or cross stitching. I will defiantly have to lay the needle down and go to one of his games. Will hasn’t chosen what he wants to do yet. We are thinking he might like soccer. The European football, that might be a way to get him to go for it. It’s his own special kind of football.
Family are well, Phil is doing so much better. He can drive his car, go to rehab by himself now, and he got busy and cut his grass last week. Just don’t want him to over due and get down again. He has another grand child on the way so he’ll be busy with kids for a long while. With September rushing in, it’s cool here on most days, we have had a few 90 degree temps but not many this time out. It will get to cool for swimming, but not fishing, so Phil will have fishing buddies down at the Lake House till the first frost. Then were off to pumpkin time and great weekends for just relaxing playing with grandpa’s Wii. So say’s the 4 Musketeers.

Wanted to share with you a great Scrap booking sight. The Scrap Garden. I have been a member there for about 1 year. It is believe it or not for T_Ball. Remember I told you about hard it was for me to scrap my niece's and nephew's T_Ball games. Well with this kit I shall have no trouble putting there pictures in great frames, backgrounds, and elements to show off there talents
The kit contains over 20 backgrounds 120 elements done in 300dpi This kit was created by Gloria Val Verde she has some wonderful elements with bright ball park colors. You can put your little feller or tom girl in a safety helmet, which ours did not need to wear. Baseball caps, softballs, bats, gloves, shoes, score board, oh just lots of things to bring out the photo you just nearly missed at that game where J sat down in the outfield and played with the spider he found. Or were S missed the ball by that much. I will also use this kit to scrap my older niece's softball games. Here team is just two games away from the All Star finales. Phew a long hot summer at the ball park. We get a few weeks brake then start in Junior Football season, and when they finish with the peewees and Juniors we start senior football season. Ladies if your not into football it's a good time to take over the puter's and work on all those summer ball pictures with this great kit. mootwodesigns.com/
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b363/GZValVerde/WebPreview1_attheballpark_gzv_mtd.jpg _________________________________________________________________
July has started about the same way June ended. Phil still in UAB, the family is still on the road from home to the hospital nearly every day. One good thing Phil has been taken from ICU to a room and it is now easier for the family to see and be with him. Fingers are crossed so that we can see him at home by this weekend. I'm busy babysitting my niece's and nephews, learning how not to yell at them over every thing they do. They come up with some ideas and more then 1/2 of them aren't dangerous but the other 1/2 could cause more heart attacks than a little bit.
The Angel Quilt group has delivered 12 cuddle cushions, along with 6 quilts to Helen Keller Hospital in the hopes that they will comfort some of the children there. We are ready to do a display at the local library when ever the call comes. I am hoping to get a fl yer done so that it will explained tell other's about the group and what we do. I will not actually write the fly er material. I will get off easy just copy it, print it, fold it, and deliver it. LOL You can as usual view the cuddle cushions that where delivered to hospital at our picture trail. http://www.picturetrail.com/claudia55
also the web sight for the Angel Quilt Project is: http://www.aqphome.org also there Yahoo groups sight where you will find Europe, Canada and the US listing.
Quilts for Older Children are busy finishing up there first quilt for a senior citizen. A new quilt will be opened up on the first day of every month with sign up sheets for those who would like to stitch for it. These wonderful ladies ask nothing but that if you take on doing a panel you finish it if you can, if you can't you let them know so someone else can do it. You can cross stitch your panels in a set time limit or sign up for one for 6 months off. Each panel is so greatly appreciated. You can view Quilts for Older Children at there web sight: http://groups.msn.com/QuiltsforOlderChildren
KMSL 071612Z AUTO 19010KT 10SM FEW018 OVC085 17/13 A3029 RMK AO2

June 1/2 done

With June being ½ done, you would think that nothing happened in that first part of the month. Well let me tell you, it seems June was just one big rush. From the first day of the month with the family coming home from there Disney World vacation to ball games a mad dash to Fathers day occurred. Brian and Mimi were very brave they took 4 children ages 4 to 9 and two teens on a week long Disney vacation. Mimi said the smart thing they did was renting a house for the time they were there as it was cheaper on them then a Condo. They could eat at the house each night, take a picnic to the park, and carry a cooler full of water bottles filled up from home to quench there thirst. They didn't get away with not spending money in the park and you know the kids were going to buy something that said Disney World on it even if it was a cloth snake yucky! I don't know what the teens bought as I didn't see my other niece's when they came home. They were dropped off on top of the mountain, Phil Campbell if you know Northwest Alabama were there mother picked them up. I think the main thrill of the Disney adventure is that Will the little brother learned how to swim in the deep end of a pool with out a life vest on. Hurray for Will, that is a big achievement.
Well the rush started the following week with Brianna back in softball, Will and Bailey were in T ball and the weather wasn't very nice for part of the month's worth of games. It was either so hot that the kids burned up, or rained so that the field was to wet to get on . Then the sun came out and I ventured with Mawma Pat into the world of T_Ball and softball all in one evening. Will and Bailey were up first with there games of T_Ball one was a regular game and one was a make up game as it was rained out. Bailey took the game very seriously. She was first base catcher, and was always on the look out for the ball coming her way so she could tag someone out. She even ran after the first base outfielder ball to make sure she got it before anyone else. She came up to bat several time and hit that ball always it seemed on the 3rd try a good lick, ran her bases and had a big grin on her face the entire time. Now Will was a different story, he was the third base catcher. Like any good catcher he watched for the ball, the runners, but didn't run after the ball if it went past him. He also found the Alabama red dirt was very interesting. Sitting down on first base, filling his cap with the dirt, building up a mound of dirt over the base, and just having a good quiet time playing alone, not really caring when runners headed for 3rd base and the ball was pitched to him to tag someone out. He also came up to bat, hit the ball quite well and ran the bases, but when the ball was thrown to first base to tag him and other runners out Will ran over picked up the ball and handed it to a little boy on the other team before going to stand on home plate. Will is ever helpful to everyone and that includes the other team which the Dodges were playing against. The games were a draw which made all the little players very happy for that night.
Brianna now is a different story. She take softball games very seriously. Her team has a sponsor from one of the business in town. The team colors are green and gold shirts and pants, also not a good color for someone playing in Alabama red dirt. Coming up to bat, Brianna will swing her bat, test it then pick another one and do the same thing. She can hit that ball fairly well and runs the bases, with a determination that a major league baseball player would like. Her father is the first base coach, he always has a high five for a girl that has to stop on first base, cheer’s them on and will give them a quick tip before the dash to steal second. Well after 4 innings, it was to hot for Mawma and I to sit on a bench, and keep one eye on the field, the other on two small fries running around the outside of the field wire. So we gathered up the two T_ball players and headed home. End of one busy day.
KMSL 071612Z AUTO 19010KT 10SM FEW018 OVC085 17/13 A3029 RMK AO2

“It’s May; it’s May, the lusty month of May. When all around ....... Toss all their cares away.” Or so Julie Andrews sang on Broadway in Camelot during the early 1960’s season. Well May here in Alabama has had rain, tornadoes, more rain and more tornadoes. Not as much as some of our sister states to the west but enough to make me so glad that the sun is shinning once again and I can cheerfully state it’s May. A month filled with Mother’s Day, graduation from High School and College, and take deep breath parents--Waite for it---the end of school till August.

So vacation time arrives soon, along with more photo’s to scrap. Never mind that I’m still working on those already scanned onto my G:\ drive. When I was checking the G:\ drive for space I nearly choked on my peppermint. You know how pink is free and blue is used, well blue was all I could see except for just barely a sliver of pink. I immediately called Dell and ordered a trig bite external hard drive. Now I can scrap to my hearts content. I have enough room to keep on going and going and going like the energizer bunny. I have finished digi scrapping Easter, Brianna's birthday all 3 parties, and my brother-in-law Phil’s birthday. That took me up to April 20Th which now leaves me with some of the challenge’s from different web sights I frequent such as The Scrap Garden, Hummie’s World, Moo Two and The Stone Accents. I now have to scrap Mother’s Day and a few odds and end photo’s of the children at play.

Let me tell you now about http://www.stoneaccentsstudio.com/forum/ In this digi scrap sight you will find some wonderful challenges, as with the other sights. A news letter sent out once a week with several freebies scattered thought it, and great kits or quick pages for the prizes if you complete the challenge. What is unusual here is the Genealogy and Heritage Learning Center. In the boutique are some wonderful kids of Zoo Animals kits, $2.00 Mini Kits, and other designer’s who have created some real great kits that can deal with your genealogy and heritage scrapping. Some of there designer’s are: AneczkaW / DarleneH / and JulieC who has some wonderful Zoo Animal kits of which I have several and used them with my younger nephew.

Well let me do some family news here, my brother-in-law Phil has had a stroke. He is doing well but uses a walker to steady himself when walking a long distance. My nephew Keith has bought his first house which is in Lauderdale county way out near the Natches Trace a little house that has a nice back yard for his puppy to romp and play around in. Brian, Mimi, there 4 children, 2 cousins and mother (mother-in-law) will be on there vacation to Disney World in Florida. I will be home to watch the puppies. A very large black lap, and two small pals. I will have time to digi scrap and cross stitch.

Yes I am still cross stitching, I have the second banner almost done. The last set of puppies is only 1/3 of the way finished but should not take a long time. After that I will finish two panels for Quilts for Older Children and then some other’s for Angel Quilt Project a quilt project that my sister Willie and I have been working on for some time will be finished so it can be donated to her school in memory of Willie.

Sad to say we did not get the Wal Mart grant which was applied for in January in our local Wal Mart here in Russellville, AL so funds are in very bad shape. Any one out there please pray for us as it does take money to buy pillow forms, flannel, material, thread and oh the cost of postage it is out of sight. We will try and keep all those wonderful pillow’s and quilts that are done for Helen Keller Hospital in Colbert County and the specialty quilts for the babies we are called to give them to going. So please send up prayers for all the wonderful men and women who continue to support this group.

If any one can give me some advice (clean advice) on how I can fix up my web page and make it look better please e mail me at my gmail account. Thank you for looking have a great week and I'll be in next week if all things work out.

KMSL 071612Z AUTO 19010KT 10SM FEW018 OVC085 17/13 A3029 RMK AO2

Digi Scrapped

KMSL 071612Z AUTO 19010KT 10SM FEW018 OVC085 17/13 A3029 RMK AO2

April: Happy and Sad at the same time

April arrived in it's usual fashion. With weather so confusing as to set everyone up for a big let down. Easter arrived with the cold, damp, wet weather. Just a week before it was nice a warm, not hot but comfortable. During this time we prepared for a wedding. Brian Wood married Mimi D. in an outdoor ceremony at her new MIL and FIL house by a lake. The water was down, but with clouds hanging over the area the rain could have help fill it up. The groom was nervous, the bride a bridezilla...only for a little while. Brian has two girls and Mimi has two boys, all of them are with in one year of each other or there abouts. Each one had a part in the wedding service. Boo who is 5 was the flower girl, Beezer who is 8 was the bridesmaid, Will who is 3 was the ring bearer. And we all thought it was a good thing that the rings were not attached to that wee little pillow as he played toss with it, tried a bit of kick the pillow etc while the pastor was marring the couple. Mason who is 7 gave his mother away in a very strong voice for a 7 yr old. When asked who gives this women to be married to this man, he answered "My brother and I do!". You couldn't get the boys to stand still for photo's finally the deed was done, but with there eyes on the cake, sandwiches and coke, punch and peanuts. The newlyweds honeymooned in New Orleans and then a Carnival cruise to Mexico. While they were away Pat the brides mother and I took care of 4 very energetic children. The newlyweds arrived home after a week surprising us with there early arrival.
On the day the newlyweds arrived home my sister Wilhelimena was taken to hospital. She once again had fluid on her lungs. Brian was called and told, with his mother telling him she was OK, and glad he was home. Monday the 24Th of April Wilhelimena was placed in ICU and the family was called in. Which means the Doctor's don't hold out much hope. I was taking care of the girls as school was out in our area for them. Mimi came for me and we hurried over to Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital. I went in to see my sister, she was struggling to breath but in typical Willie fashion, when I told her I loved her, she said; I Love You To. Don't worry about me. My sister went home to God a few hours later and the shock is still with us. And yes we all know she is free of pain, in a better place, very happy, but she isn't with us. Willie was a practices of her faith, God had a plan and He was working his plan. She hid her illness and how it was making her feel even from her husband who was with her through all of the breast cancer nightmare.
My advice to anyone who prays for something be careful of how you pray. I asked God to let me see my brother again, I did, at our sister's funeral.
May I hope will be better for us all....it's warmer, we are all grieving, but taking it one day at a time and at times one minute at a time. Willie was my heart, she was my sister, my friend, my confidant, my encourager, and I like to think at times I was her's. Our hearts are in pain so if I seem off writing this that is the reason. With God's Love we will get through it, but we will never get over such a great loss. She was beloved in the community, with friends made in many states and countries. Willie always told us to take any problem to God..."Take it to God, he has the answer..." yeah Willie but I sure would like you to give me some advice .....LOL

This is the last picture taken of Wilhelimena F. Mott Wood, April 14Th 2007, a woman who lived her faith, trusted God, believed in Our Lord Jesus the Christ, and never, ever put someone else down, had a bad word to say and always encouraged everyone to do your best. She loved to write, needlepoint, quilt, in her free time, as she was a sub teacher at the Russellville School System. She left behind, her husband Phil, sons Brian and Keith, her sister Claudia, her brother Blaise and 8 wonderful grandchildren who lit up her world. Willie was Grannie, a lady filled with love for everyone. May we follow in her footsteps with just as much courage, love and warmth.
The Rose Beyond the Wall
A rose once grew
where all could see.
sheltered beside a garden wall
And, as the days
passed swiftly by,
it spread its branches,
straight and tall....

One day,
a beam of light shone through
a crevice that had opened wide -
the rose bent gently
toward its warmth
then passed beyond
to the other side....

The Angel Quilt Project is still going strong, still in need of funds, but being given panels, material etc from stitcher's all across the country and world. Helen Keller Hospital received 12 pillow's in April and several went to young children at Children's Hospital. Quilts for Older children have completed several quilts and they have been delivered to the young adults who were put in for them. You can check out both groups on the web.
